First Grade

Welcome to first grade! We are so happy to have your child with us, and we cannot wait to get started.

This first week is all about getting to know one another. We will learn each other's names, begin building our classroom community, and practice the routines that will carry us through the whole year — how we line up, how we take care of our materials, and how we take care of each other.

We have school every day this week, Monday through Friday. Specials start right away, every day from 1:30 to 2:15. Take a look at the board below to see which special your child has each day. Comfortable shoes on PE days and a labeled water bottle every day both go a long way.

This Friday, August 28, is the Family Fiesta from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. All Bancroft families are welcome — enter through the soccer field.

Our regular sections — math, literacy, and ROARS — will begin next week, once we have settled into our routines. Here is to a wonderful year together!
