Parent-teacher conferences are happening this week! If you haven't signed-up for a conference, please do so ASAP. Teachers are also offering additional times in case you can't meet on Thursday, October 9. So, reach out to homeroom teachers if you need to meet on a different day/time.
In math, we will be finding all of the two-part expressions that make 7, 8, 9 and 10. At home, practice your 10 facts and have your kiddo draw a number bond to organize their parts and total.
SLA: This short week, in word study we will review diphthongs and CCV words (consonant, consonant, vowel). In reading and writing, we are going to learn about what the Earth looks like from space. At home, you can practice reading, breaking into syllables, and writing words such as: niebla (nie-bla), gracias (gra-cias), grande (gran-de), sembrar (sem-brar), and cambiar (cam-biar). Continue reading daily and asking your child questions about the reading.
ELA: Wow we are getting close to the end of our Maps unit! The focus question for next week is, "How do I use a map of my world?". We will be using globes and discussing how maps and globes are similar and different. Please discuss the 7 continents and 5 oceans with your students. Remember to have your student read to you every day for 20 minutes in English and Spanish.
