Our Spelling Bee is Monday, December 8. Please ask students to study the words we sent out weeks ago. Also, remind them to be good sports as only one person per class will have a chance to move on to the School Spelling Bee!
In math, we will be launching our 3rd module on the properties on operations and learn which strategies help us solve our math problems easier. At home, continue to practice counting on and back from a number. Have your kiddo solve the following problems and encourage them to draw to solve: 18-5= __ , 8+12= __ , and 21+7= __.
This week, students will be organizing and finalizing their bilingual animal books and completing their end-of-unit writing assessments in both Spanish and English as we wrap up our unit on endangered animals.
In Spanish word study, we will work with words that include “y” and “ll”, and students can practice reading and writing the words: sombrilla, lluvia, yate, yoyo, llave, llora, llamada, and payaso at home. Please continue supporting your child’s reading by spending 20 minutes each day reading together.
